New Ukrainian high-quality brewing grade
spring barley
Year of registration - 2019. Bred according to the program of creating varieties for brewing at the Mironiv Institute
wheat named after V. M. Remesl of the National Academy of Sciences by individual selection from the hybrid population F4 from the crossing of two Western European high-quality brewing varieties (Vivaldi / Ebson). The variety is pure. The species var. nutansSchubl.
High-yielding. The genetic yield potential is more than 8.7 t/ha. In the years of competitive testing (2016–2018), the yield exceeded the standard by 0.89 t/ha. During the state qualification examination, the conventional yield standard prevailed in Steppe conditions by 0.61 t/ha, Forest Steppe – by 1.09 t/ha, Polissia – by 0.67 t/ha.

During the three-year test at the malting plant, the quality indicators of the finished malt were: total protein content - 10.5%, soluble protein - 5.8%, moisture - 4.2%, extractability - 82.5%, soluble nitrogen - 1008 mg/l, brittleness 99.3%, glassiness - 0.1%, diastatic strength - 332 units. W-K,
λ-amine nitrogen – 178 mg/dm3.
It is characterized by an optimal combination of high yield potential, brewing quality and a complex of other valuable economic characteristics: mid-early (in contrast to late-ripening Western varieties, it ears and ripens 5–7 days earlier); drought-resistant (exceeds analogues in yield in dry years by 0.7–1.5 t/ha); medium low (plant height 65–70 cm) with strong straw, which provides high lodging resistance (8–9 points); very high resistance to powdery mildew is controlled by genes mlo11.
