The seed washer is made of ordinary (painted) or galvanized steel. The drum is made of perforated steel with 7 mm holes. Seeds are loaded into the receiving hopper and washed using water nozzles of various capacities. The resulting mass passes through a perforated drum for draining into a tank or sewer. A cleaning brush is installed at the outlet of the drum. The height of the drum and its inclination are regulatedrelative to the capacity for dumping cleaned seeds. It is possible to install a suction fan on the sink for preliminary drying of seeds.

Afterharvesting,pumpkin seeds must be washed to remove pulp and mucus. Thanks to water treatment and secondary use of water, high-quality seed washing is guaranteed with minimal consumption of clean water. With the help of an exhaust fan, a significant part of the moisture is removed from the washed seeds, which allows to reduce (energy) costs for drying.
