The columnar foundation is a system of columns - supports, which are arranged in a strictly defined order by calculation. This type of foundation is expedient to use in the construction of relatively small, light buildings without basements, having, as a rule, no more than two floors, as well as various buildings for household needs and light frame-type structures. A columnar foundation can be used on flat areas without a height difference, while the soil must have good characteristics. If you compare the labor and material costs, the column foundation will be much more profitable than the strip foundation, but it is far from suitable for every house.
