cattle.
Enriching the soil with nitrogen and improving its structure, asparagus is a good precursor to all spring crops. In fodder crop rotations, they are sown in grass mixtures with thornless fescue, meadow fescue, alfalfa or clover. The best components for safflower in a grassy area are thornless bonfire, meadow fescue, in arid areas - ryegrass and rootless wheatgrass, and in irrigation conditions - ergot. In such grass stands, safflower is preserved for 3-5 years.
Honey culture.
Esparcet is one of the best and sought-after honey plants.
The honey productivity of safflower varies greatly: in the central black earth regions, in Ukraine and in the south of Russia, the honey yield from safflower reaches 120 kg, and in the south-east of Kazakhstan - only 70 kg per hectare. Transcaucasian safflower, especially irrigated, is extremely valuable for beekeeping. Under favorable conditions, its honey productivity reaches 400 kg per hectare!
