Origin. The two-handled barley variety MARUSYA (Parallelum 1899) was created by individual selection from the hybrid combination Master *Dar.
General characteristic. Variety ¬– parallelum. Ears are six-rowed, cylindrical, rectangular in cross-section, straw-yellow, 4-5 cm long, dense. The spikes are longer than the ear, they diverge at the top, they are straw-yellow in color, the jagged edges are strong.
Grain Medium, semi-round (elliptical) shape, yellow. The bristles at the base of the grain are felty, the type of pubescence is long. The grain size of the new variety significantly exceeds the standard (48.4 and 36.3 g, respectively).
The variety is early-ripening (vegetation period - 258-263 days), ripens on average 1-3 days earlier than the Master standard. Resistance to lying is high.
Productivity The MARUSYA variety has high biological and field winter hardiness. During the years of study in the competitive test (2014-2016), he produced an average yield of 8.0 t/ha, exceeding the Master standard by 1.1 t/ha. in terms of resistance to leaf diseases, the MARUSYA variety is more resistant than the standard.
Direction of use and grain quality. Purpose of the variety - use for fodder. In terms of protein content in grain, the MARUSYA variety also exceeds the standard (11.7 and 11.0%, respectively).

Resistance to diseases and climatic conditions. The variety has high winter resistance. resistance to powdery mildew and spotting is above average.
Cultivation zone. It is studied in the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation.
