Perennial wild arugula is gaining more and more popularity.
This variety was created by English breeders based on the Italian favorite Silvetta.
It has narrower, deeply dissected and very jagged leaves.(//tractor-service.com)
They are filled with an intense nutty flavor that is sharp and clean, unlike annual arugula, which can become bitter with age and in hot weather.
Wild arugula is thinner, darker and sharper.
The plant is about 20 cm in height and girth. It can be grown in containers and in open ground as a perennial crop, protected from frost in winter.
Grows quickly and easily from sown seeds (25-30 days) and grows many times after cutting.
Thanks to its strong but pleasant aroma, it is especially well suited for mixedsalads and pizzas, makes a spicy side dish.
Leaves are collected from early spring to autumn, grown on kitchen windowsills in winter.
