The cylinder belongs to the last class of HBO elements. That is, this node is an ordinary tank that helps store and transport the gas that feeds the car's engine.
Gas cylinders have no specific features, except for the requirements for their use. In particular, it is not allowed to store liquefied gas of the HBO system in tanks:
with a wall thickness of less than 3 millimeters;
with broken sealing or shape;
which do not have basic gas distribution and delivery systems.

tank shape (cylindrical or toroidal);
and its technical characteristics.
We will talk about the shapes of cylinders separately in the next paragraph of the article, and now we will pay attention to the technical characteristics of these HBO elements. Today, such properties of gas cylinders as:

Weight and dimensions. Perhaps the most understandable subdivision, which occurs due to the use of cylinders of different capacity and type of production;
Volume This characteristic is one of the most important for gas cylinders. Tanks with a capacity of 20-90 liters are actively used for ordinary cars, for SUVs -150 (plus a few additional ones - 30 liters each), for medium vehicles (for example, Gazelles) - 300, for
trucks - up to 1000. Many people who want to install HBO on their car often ask the question "What is the best volume to install cylinders?". There is an answer to it, and it is confirmed by practice. For passenger cars, the optimal option is 25-30 liters, and for all others - 100, of course, per tank, of which an unlimited amount can be used in the design of HBO;
Possibility of verification. Note that most modern HBO cylinders are perfectly diagnosed through the equipment control unit, so this type is used quite often. Nodes that do not have a verification function are almost not used now;
The type of gas used. Today, only two types of cylinders stand out in this respect. The first are propane, because they are intended for storing the gas of the same name, and the others are installed on HBO with methane, respectively, working exclusively on it;
The need for installation at a service station, systematic certification, inspection, opening of a technical passport, passing opressovka or observing other formalities. Fortunately for the majority of drivers of passenger cars, they do not need to use such cylinders, because it is enough to issue the HBO as a whole. However, for owners of gas "heavy goods", most likely, they will have to fiddle with the certification of cylinders and their inspection. It is worth mentioning that mandatory inspection of all cylinders separately from the HBO itself has been considered at the legislative level for a long time, but such measures have not yet been officially taken. Many will say that this is already available, because once every 2 years, the gas equipment is checked in a mandatory order, but it is worth noting that the government wants to greatly modify the inspection procedure with a focus on detailed diagnostics of cylinders separately from other components of HBO.

In the rest, there are no subdivisions of gas tanks. However, even the ones presented above are quite a lot for the organization of the most flexible selection of the cylinder, right?
A little about the used forms of tanks.
As mentioned earlier, in addition to the basic technical characteristics, cylinders are also divided by the type of their shape. At the moment, only two tank formations are widely used, namely:
Cylindrical cylinder. It is partly a relic of the past, but its use still continues. Cylindrical cylinders are an ordinary tank in the form of a cylinder with a hollow interior. It is often used on sedan cars. Cylindrical cylinders are located, as a rule, in the trunk. Often, such tanks have a small volume - up to 50 liters, and are actively used due to the uniqueness of their design. In general, a cylindrical cylinder is a thing created for the ages and, it seems, its use will continue for many more years;
Toroidal cylinder. Modernized gas storage tanks in HBO systems, increasingly used in the automotive industry. The main convenience of toroidal cylinders is the possibility of using them, as they say, "under a spare", which is very convenient both in terms of installation and use. We note that such types of tanks are more universal in terms of their application, therefore, the spectrum of their application is growing every day.
