Spruce-Slender tree 25-30 m tall with a rounded straight trunk that gradually thins to the top of the tree. The crown is cone-shaped, formed by twisting-horizontal or slightly drooping lateral branches, the ends of which are slightly raised. The round trunk is covered with a thin reddish-brown or gray bark, which is smooth when young, and later peels off with thin scaly plates. The root system is superficial.
Light-loving, tolerates partial shade. Prefers cold places with moist air.
