The word Vytalot is French and was first mentioned in 1812. The tubers are oblong, no more than 10 cm long, with purple flesh and almost black skin. The average weight of a tuber is about 70 g. Preserves color during cooking. The tubers have a thick skin and store well. It is highly starchy, hard to boil, ideal for preparingpuree, which will have a rich lilac color. The variety ripens late. Compared to modern varieties, it has a low yield, so it is not grown commercially. When growing the variety, it is necessary to take into account an important feature - the bush forms very many long stolons. If there is not enough soil during hilling, then they come to the surface and turn into new stems. In order for tubers to grow, it is necessary to raise them high.
