Winter wheat Wreath Podillya (elite)
ORIGINATOR: INSTITUTE OF PLANT PHYSIOLOGY AND GENETICS OF THE NATIONAL NATURE OF UKRAINE.
Entered into the register of plant varieties of Ukraine for 2017 for cultivation in the polis, forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine.
BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS: short-stemmed, medium-ripening, vegetation period 280-287 days. Resistant to laying down. Winter hardiness above average, drought resistant. Resistant to powdery mildew and brown leaf rust. Resistant to grain germination in the ear and shedding. The variety is erythrospermum.
GRAIN QUALITY: FLOUR MILLING AND BREADING PROPERTIES ARE EXCELLENT.
Grain of variety Podillia wreath contains 14.5-15.5% protein, 29.5-35.1% crude gluten. The strength of the flour is 320-452 o.a., the volume of bread from 100 g of flour is 1100-1200 ml, the overall assessment of bread-making qualities is 8.5 points. Classified as strong wheat. With proper agricultural techniques, the genetics of the variety ensure the production of high-quality grain.
ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS: high-yielding variety, intensive type.

In the institute's competitive test over the past three years, the average grain yield of the Vinok Podillia variety was 97.6 t/ha and provided a grain allowance to the national standard (Yednist variety) of 10.9 t/ha. The maximum yield of the Vinok Podillya variety was 104.0 t/ha (DSV IFRG NAS of Ukraine, Glevakh village, Vasylkivsky district, Kyiv region).
The grain yield of the Vinok Podillia variety in the state variety study (2014-2016) was 50.5-104.6 t/ha.
Substantial increases in the yield of the Vinok Podillia variety to the national standard from 4.0 to 41.9 t/ha were obtained in 18 variety studies in 10 regions of Ukraine, which cover the steppe, forest-steppe and Polissia zones (Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Ternopil, Cherkasy, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa regions).
High yields 104.8; 102.9; 102.6; 101.2 t/ha obtained at the Vinnytsia State Expert Center (Vinnytsia Region); Kirovohrad State Sorting Station (Kirovohrad region); Sumy State Expert Center (Sumy region); Mankiv State Sorting Station (Cherka region), respectively.
AGROTECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: the variety must be grown using intensive technology with the introduction of optimal and high doses of mineral fertilizers. Specific for the mineral nutrition of the variety is the need for early spring top dressing on frozen soil and application of fertilizers on poor soils from autumn (before or after sowing). In order to obtain high-quality grain, it is necessary to provide for the introduction of high doses of nitrogen fertilizers, including carrying out the third fertilization after throwing out the ear and spraying the crops against pests and diseases, especially after throwing out the ear.
Sowing rate
seeds 5.5-6.0 million similar grains per 1 ha. Optimal predecessors are busy steam, annual grasses and peas. Sow in the second half of the optimal terms.
