The main tasks of soil treatment afterharvest are recognized:
peeling of the stubble of the harvested crop,
provocation of carrion,
weed control,
pests and diseases of cultural plants,
preservation and accumulation of moisture in the soil,

After husking stubble, not only carrion and weed seeds sprout,
which fell this season, but also the soil reserves of seeds from previous years,
located in the upper part of the arable layer.
Germination of carrion and weed seeds after peeling occurs later,
that the working body of the agricultural machine loosens the upper layer of the soil,
and this contributes to its moistening by drawing moisture from the lower horizons,
as well as the introduction of air into the soil,
necessary for the germination of seeds and the development of some weeds that reproduce vegetatively.

It is recommended to peel the stubble at the same time as harvesting or no later than after two or three days.
With a temporary break of more than seven days after harvesting, stubble peeling loses its meaning. After all, the field is dry,
left untreated after grain harvesting,
begins to lose moisture quickly.
However, with timely shelling, the soil not only preserves the amount of water,
contained in it,
but also increases its volume due to the condensation of water vapor and atmospheric precipitation.

The depth of peeling depends on soil and climatic conditions,
granulometric composition of the soil and the type of weediness of the fields.
On heavy soils, the stubble scales are deeper, on light ones - shallower.
If the field is clogged with juvenile weeds and the soil is sufficiently moistened in the post-harvest period,
then peeling is carried out to a depth of 5-6 cm, and in a dry period - to a depth of 6-8 cm.
